This program was developed especially for the combined degree, and the curriculum is tightly integrated with veterinary coursework.
Didactic courses are taught by faculty from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and by research animal facility veterinary staff from nearby institutions, most of whom are ACLAM boarded. Faculty are drawn from Charles River Laboratories, Genzyme, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Massachusetts Medical School, New England Primate Research Center, Tufts Medical Center Hospitals, and Harvard Medical School Animal Resources and Comparative Medicine.
Some students may be interested in selected topics but may not have been formally enrolled in the DVM/MS–LAM program. Such students may audit one semester of the program, at no cost, at any point during their DVM program.
