Commencement 2016 Photos
Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University held its 2016 commencement on Sunday, May 22, where graduating students celebrated the milestones they reached this spring with family and friends.
The the accomplishments of 92 doctor of veterinary medicine candidates were recognized during the events, some of whom earned additional degrees, including five who also received a master in public health; and three who also received a master of science.
Furthermore, Cummings School graduated two Ph.D. students, 18 students who earned a master of science in animals and public policy, and nine who earned a master of science in conservation medicine.
Selected by classmates, Frank Romano addressed his Class of 2016 with leadership and poise, while faculty member, Dr. Amy Sato—also chosen by the graduating class to speak at commencement—offered both thoughtful and entertaining remarks.
A number of faculty members were also recognized during the day’s events, including newly appointed emeritus faculty members, Drs. Nick Dodman and Linda Ross, and award winners as follows: Drs. Lilian Cornejo – Artemis Award for Clinical Excellence; Perry Bain – Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award; Andy Hoffman – Zoetis Award for Veterinary Research Excellence; and Victoria Wirsig-Embree – Henry Childers Award.
