Student in the LabWorking with orthopedic oncologists at the Massachusetts General Hospital, veterinarians at Tufts' Henry and Lois Foster Hospital for Small Animals are gaining new insights into osteosarcoma, the most common bone malignancy in humans, by treating dogs diagnosed with the condition, with the hope of curing this disease in both animals and humans. In fact, Tufts' Harrington Oncology Program is the only comprehensive, advanced animal cancer treatment facility in New England and one of the few in the country.

The Marilyn M. Simpson Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the only specialized facility of its kind in New England and one of just a few nationwide. It provides young horses, cattle, sheep, goats and llamas with sophisticated medical care.
