Animals in the Environment

Through community service, faculty research and student projects, the Center for Animals and Public Policy addresses issues of animal welfare as it is affected by human modification of our shared environment.

Areas of special interest to the Center include welfare of food animals and domestic horses, ecologically and economically sustainable animal agriculture in New England, resolution of human-wildlife conflicts in cities and suburbs, and management of wild horses on public land. The Center works closely on these issues with the Cummings School Farm and the Tufts Center for Conservation Medicine.
