Frequently Asked Questions about Reapplication and Deferment

I applied and was not offered admission to the Cummings School. May I reapply?

Applicants who were not offered admission are welcome to reapply. The Office of Admissions maintains applications for a period of three years.

What materials do I need to submit for reapplication?

Reapplicants need only submit those materials listed under the Reapplicants Section on the DVM Application page.

Is it possible to get feedback on my last application?

Applicants who desire feedback on a previous application should call or send an e-mail request to the Office of Admissions. You can meet with our admissions counselor in person, have an appointment by telephone or communicate via e-mail. In-person and telephone appointments must be scheduled in advance.

Can I defer my enrollment at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine?

Admitted applicants may request a one-year deferral of their admission. Deferrals requests are reviewed by the Admissions Committee on a case by case basis and may be granted for reasons such as a unique employment opportunity, fellowship program, or family or medical emergency. Deferrals beyond one year are not allowed.
