Teaching Hospitals

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine is located in a beautiful New England setting in North Grafton, Massachusetts, about an hour west of Boston. Our 585-acre campus—the site of the former Grafton State Hospital—includes three teaching hospitals which, combined, treat more than 28,000 cases each year:

The Hospital for Large Animals
The Hospital for Large Animals provides consultation, referral and emergency veterinary services, and 24-hour care for horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and llamas.
The Foster Hospital for Small Animals
The Foster Hospital for Small Animals provides specialty care and emergency treatment services for dogs, cats and exotic pets.
The Tufts Wildlife Clinic
Housed in the Bernice Barbour Wildlife Medicine Building, the Tufts Wildlife Clinic specializes in diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for native wildlife.

We also own and operate the largest food animal veterinary medicine/mixed practice in Southern New England—Tufts Ambulatory Service, located in Woodstock Connecticut. Tufts VETS, our innovative satellite clinic located in Walpole, Massachusetts, offers a private practice specialty clinic environment that extends the reach of our small animal teaching hospital.
